putting tj flares on a yj

I dont remember if the YJ's rear wheel well is round . if it is it will require some trimming on the body like i did on my CJ7. i wouldn't say it's difficult , just requires a little patience so you dont over trim the body for proper fitment.

I covered the fender in masking tape and clamped the TJ flare in place. Then trace a cut line. I cut mine with a jigsaw and metal cutting blade.

Position the front flare so the rear of the flare is flush with the inner wheelwell, where you can't cut any more to the rear. Then cut about 1" off the bottom of the front of the flare to match the fender.

The rear flares are mounted as far back as possible without having to cut into the inner fender brace, the boxed area ahead of the taillights.

It's pretty easy, get them clamped in place and you will see how well they fit. There are some web articles if you google them up.
