HELP I loose Control when I hit a big Bump

Check the toe setting yourself with a tape measure. the measurement between the front edge of the tires should be slightly less than the rear of the tires. Just measure at the same spot (looking at the side of the tires should be at 3 and 9 o'clock).

I have done that too, when the little plug went missing..

    Axle tube crack

Are the perches factory or done after? I would take it to an axle shop and have them look at it. You can re-sleeve one side if needed. Or they may be able to weld/braze it if it's not a structural problem.

    Body lift

I say get the leaf spring lift. I don't like body lifts. That is just my personal preference. With a suspension lift you get extra clearance at the frame not just at the wheelwells for bigger tires. If I never planned on using my Jeep off road, I would do a body lift.

    bad vibrations

Sounds like the beginnings of death wobble. It could be something as simple as the alignment, or something worn out in the suspension. Steering stabilizers just mask problems. Have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth and look for any independent movement of the steering...

HELP I loose Control when I hit a big Bump

I'm betting loose track bar and bad alignment. I would guess they set it at zero toe in. With the oversized tires you need about 1/8" toe in.

    header decision

Do you want to cut out the middle man? if so, click here I have two vehicles running that header. It works fine, and appears to be a Banks copy. I don't really think you get any more power out of it because of tube diameter and weld quality (solid, just not ground smooth like the big dollar...

    Slip yoke eliminator

X2, the last time I ordered one they actually sent an Advanced Adapter's SYE because they were backed up. I also got a driveshaft from them, it was good quality with all Spicer parts. I want to say the whole shebang was just over 400 dollars.

Cherokee shuts-down while driving - help please!

Everything dies then comes back on? I would check a power or ground problem first.

    xfer 99 wj

If it's already apart, just replace the broken gear! The only thing you need is a pair of duck bill snap ring pliers from Sears. remove the snap ring and slide the gear off the shaft. Look up some SYE directions on line, it shows how to remove the gears because you need to take the gears off...

    running hot

210 is the correct temp for the Jeep to run. What do you mean it bogs down? I would get a second opinion (a different mechanic). There are two fans, 1 mechanical (attached to the engine) and one electric (has it's own motor). The electric one will come on at a certain temp, the mechanical...

    Fuse location

Check and see if it has power before you rip it out and replace it. Just get one of those poke lights. They work great for checking fuses too. There are little holes in the end of the stab-in fuses for sticking the probe in.

    '88 Wagoneer MPG

Fuel injection would definitely help your driveability. I don't think anything you do will make a whole lot of difference in your mileage. I mean you are driving a brick (aerodynamically), with a 360, big heavy Dana 44 axles, and a lot of steel. The stars are against you! Every little bit...

    yet more questions about lockers

You can still install a locker. You will NOT be able to install a lunch-box locker with the limited slip. You would need to get an open differential and install the lunch-box in it then put it in the axle, the rear end would need to be set up again. If you have an open differential already...

I can not shut my jeep off

there is an ignition module on top of the steering column, way under the dash. There would be a metal rod running from the ignition down to the module. The module makes everything go (or turn off). They were notorious for going bad. There would be a bunch of wires attached to it. Oops, I see...

    Wheel spacers: Good or bad??

I don't like wheel spacers. I have never used them, but have seen them loosen up. To tighten them, you need to take the wheel off. But it is a cheaper way to get extra back spacing, just not my cup of tea. I personally don't think the wear would be any more than a set of wheels with less...

    Snow plow on a Jeep???

I have plowed with both CJs and YJs. They plow small areas great. But not as well as a quad with a plow. You could spend the same on a used quad with a plow as buying a plow for your Jeep. Plows are really rough on the Jeeps suspension.
